DESIGN New Fire Alarm systems should be designed to British Standards to ensure you are getting a system that will not only work if a fire starts but also covers all the latest legislation and comply with industry standards. Design stage is where most non– fire alarm specialists make errors, by maybe getting a detector two close to a light or a wall etc. Ask your electrician or contractor to see his copy of BS5839-1-2002. If he's not got one be wary where else is he cutting corners! without an official fire certificate of Design, the system would not be deemed as acceptable by the relevant authorities. At Lindum Fire Services, we include design in our overall estimate, to make sure there are no additional costs or hidden surprises.
“You want to use your own electrician” For systems that are to be installed by an electrician or another contractor, we are more than happy to offer a design and commissioning service to design, test and certify that the system meets the required standards.
